Yes you should back up your data! Online backup tools are becoming more popular. While your initial backup may be slow (depending on your internet connection speed) future backups should be pretty fast. If you backup to a device at home and it gets stolen or destroyed what is the point? So backing up your most important files remotely is a really good idea.
