Just a quick note/review of the iPhone 4. I have had it for a little over a week and can tell you it is a big improvement over the 3G. The phone is 40-50% faster than the 3G and in unscientific testing I would say 25-35% faster than the 3GS based on side by side comparison.

If you use FlightCrew iLog you will enjoy the performance boost. All of the apps run faster and Safari is much faster.

FaceTime – FaceTime is nice but of course requires wifi and the other user to also have the iPhone 4. If you travel international this is a free way to talk to friends and family back home as long as the hotel has wifi. Yeah you will get tired of looking at just someones mug after a few minutes but the call quality is good. Use the rear camera and let the other party stare at your hotel room.

If you are a 3GS owner you may consider waiting. However, if you are an iPhone fan and either own the 1st or 2nd generation phone I highly recommend getting the update. “Multi-tasking” in iPhone 4 OS is also nice. This helps with running apps like Skype or other VOIP apps in the background as well as favorites like Pandora and Slacker Radio. I highly recommend TuneIn Radio for $1.99 you can listen to “real” radio stations from all around the world and even record your favorite shows.
