Whether you have an iPhone, iPad or other smart device DropBox can make your life more productive. You can use DropBox to store bid packets, company manuals, books, photos, whatever you want!
What DropBox does in a nutshell is provide synchronization of files across multiple devices including computers, the iPhone/iPad, and smartphones. You place files which you wish to share into a special folder on your PC. Anything placed there gets synced with your DropBox account. If your device does not have a DropBox application you can always visit the DropBox web site and gain access to your files. Many 3rd party apps for the iPhone and iPad can connect to your DropBox account easily. GoodReader, our preferred PDF viewer, connects and can download local copies of your files.
Other uses for DropBox:
- Download company manuals and approach plates on your computer and read everywhere
- I use it to sync books and related content with Calibre. I have scheduled content which is downloaded weekly but also do adhoc downloads from both my PC and notebook. DropBox keeps the 2 devices in sync.
- I use it to sync important business documents with multiple devices
- I use to to sync my pilot logbook with 2 devices
- I use it to sync Quicken between 2 device
- To save files for offline viewing hit the “star” icon
You get the idea.
